Tailoring nano-copolymer/CNTs composite and its application in drug delivery

This work aimed to overcome the main drawbacks of some essential anticancer drugs as 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) by controlled loading with novel drug carriers. By a differential microemulsion technique, nanosized particles derived from copolymer poly(methyl methacrylate (MMA) and 2-hydroxyethyl (HEMA)) different monomer ratios have been synthesized used carrier. Poly(MMA-co-HEMA)/MWCNT nanocomposite was also using an in-situ polymerization technique 5-FU Different techniques characterized these ground-breaking delivery systems such FT-IR, XRD, TEM, TGA, zeta potential, particle size analyzer. The effects feed composition, content, MWCNTs content on morphological structural properties, in-vitro release, entrapment efficiency (EE%) studied. It noted that inclusion in 5-FU-loaded polymer increases thermal stability raises hit 99% at CNTs:5-FU ratio 2:1. release co-polymeric nanospheres depends HEMA ratio, 5-FU/copolymer CNT/5-FU pH medium. optimized demonstrated higher anti-tumor activity against cell lines CaCo-2, MCF-7, HepG-2 cytotoxicity relative CaCo-2 MCF-7.
